embroidery?
Apr. 21st, 2006 10:52 pmso, everyonce in a while I buy this magazine called "sew beautiful" which focuses on things like embroidery, pintucking, smocking and heirloom sewing... all of which I've always been facinated by and would like to learn. I think christening dresses are just gorgeous. *_*
One of the most recent issue had a tutorial and pattern for doing a "bluebird of happiness" design with bullion. I used to embroider when I was in like gradeschool, but I haven't done it for like 10 years, I dont' remember anything.
Could anyone recommend a good book that I could start to learn embroidery from? Like not just normal embroidery but things like bullion, beaded embroidery and making flowers and things like that? (I suppose if I must learn "normal" embroidery to learn the more complex things then so be it!)
I can TOTALLY see myself embroidering little things on my favorite skirts and shirts... plus it's just pretty. ( I need a little more flowers in my life! :) )
