Does anyone know of any custom shoe places that make GOOD SHOES?

I want to get some custom shoes made for myself. I'm researching two,.. but I'm wondering if you guys can recommend any. They'd have to be able to make custom shoes (in loli style) with cork or wood wedges and in size 11 womens. :P

There should be a ton (and by a ton I really mean like... 2) of places that do it near you since you're near all the movie/theater spots, right? I suppose you did a Google search and all that jazz already, yeah?

the trouble is... so many of these sites seem dubious. I really want a nice pair of shoes. I wish I knew who to ask! I'm sure you're right that there MUST be someone in hollywood, etc, who could make them for me.

Well, this one is based in Burbank:

And he did shoes for Janet Jackson... that's gotta count for something!

It looks like that place charges even more though! It looks like they are charging over $500 for one pair of shoes. *cry*

(though she did do shoes for Dolly Parton!)

I don't know anything about custom shoe makers, but you *could* buy a shoe online that is similar in style to what you want and take it to a good cobbler where he could a)cut into the shoe, b) change the heel, c) add buckles/straps/grommets/trim/etc., and d)paint the shoes.

Similar case: I bought a pair of white stretch pleather platform boots last week, but I want them to be converted into just plain basic platform pumps~~~ So I was thinking of taking them to a local cobbler where they could remove the extra boot and zipper part, then finish off the raw edge of the shoe with scraps of the removed boot pieces.

In either case, they won't be perfect, but darn close. There was a cobbler near my parent's house that my mom would go to all the time to fix her shoes (everything from bad ankle straps, to ripped seams, and torn heels). He even fixed the handle of a purse my mom loved using leftover scraps of leather. Cobblers must have some pretty awesome equipment and glue for their repairs~~~ Special leather stitching machines and such.

You should look around and see what local cobblers in your area can do for you.
