scary wakeup call

So our heater went on for the first time this morning...

and started to smoke inside the house, which caused the fire alarms in our place to go off at 4 am. *_*.... Mitch has a good head on his shoulders and figured out that it was the heater (who knows what is wrong with it! it's NEW!) my first response was to try and put clothes on and look for valuables! I'm dumb when I'm half-asleep and scared!

Youta was VERY UPSET. He's now sitting in my lap and doesn't want me to go to work!
(I have to work late again too...)

Great start to my first day back to work after vacation!!

Although you could have our house where Judy just discovered we have no smoke detector at all. So... we would just die in a big ball of fire and never know it. @_@ That's on the list of things to get at Home Depot this week. >.

I hope that it was just dust and whatnot collected in the heater from being unused rather than something seriously wrong!

At work when the heater comes on after a summer of being unused there is this discomforting scent of burning for a day or two. *_*
