Oh that's exciting! the dolls are so gorgeous. Unfortunately I do not have the money for any of them right now. Good luck organizing your mini con. If you know of any trust worthy folks who need a place to crash for the night, let me know. I might be able to put up a few. I'm in LA near USC. Best wishes

^_^ Anyone can go, one has to start somewhere! :D if you had to be a member, to go in, then most people would never get a doll! Plus I'm sure they would really really welcome people who love dolls to visit, regardless of whether they own one or not.

the only thing they are sticky about are bringing other companys' dolls in their stores.

It would be wonderful if you could find out just HOW one registers one's dolls, and if it's possible to register dolls one acquired second-hand and/or in pieces. (Zhong-Wu, my husband's Jun T., came to us as a head only, and we had to acquire eyes, wig and a body from a Yori-donor from Volks by ourselves. She's all Volks (including her wig), just not in "original condition".)

but frankly, how would they know if it was second hand or not? I dont see how they could know whether you bought it in Japan or not, as there is no name registration when you buy a doll in Japan. The only thing they may be able to track is FCS, or the coming-home ceremony, as it is connected to ones name....

but if one visited japan, and bought a doll, one would not be able to send in the registration form to join the Volks club ANYWAY unless you lived in Japan (the way the old system went)

So IMHO, I think they'll be fine with secondhand (how will they know?)

but I really don't know. I dont know if they are going to ask to see the forms that came in the box with the doll? or what?

plus... I could be wrong but I dont think even people in Japan register every doll, I think they just register once to join the Volks club. Again, I'm just guessing. I could be wrong.

I'll try to ask Volks next weekend if I can though ^_-

This is VERY good news for all of us that collect Volks Super Dollfies. I bet their FCS service will have a waiting list a mile long. *sighs*
