10 years ago, huh? (Gargoyles)

the fandom that has had the biggest effect on my life has been Gargoyles.

tomorrow, it is finally being released on DVD (10th anniversary edition). If you liked the show, I encourage you to support it by buying it tomorrow if you can, especially places like Amazon (it shows well...) so that the next season will be released as well.

Lots of things are due to this show in some funny ways... it was on pretty much when I first started really getting on the internet, so I guess it could have been any show or movie... but my first website had Demona on it. My first artwork ever scanned and put on the net was Elisa from Gargoyles as well. My first "net buddies" were Gargoyles friends. Several of them are real-life friends now who I value dearly (even though I can't see them as often as I'd like...) and I even met my husband through Gargoyles.

I guess that means my online website is tecnically about 10 years old too! So... wow...! Guess I'm a lot different than I was 10 years ago, huddled around the highschool library computer chatting on IRC! (although not really that different... ha ha...)

although I'm interested in many other things now... and I don't really do tv show and movie fandoms anymore... and I dont really hang around the gargoyles "haunts", I'll always look back on this show fondly.

i too loved Gargoyles. however i never really did any fan art or anything... ponders... maybe someday

That series really defined my late teen years and I think also influenced me as an artist.
I just watched an episode with my friend a few weeks ago (he has them on VCDs...but the image quality is ...heh, you know).

I remember a lot of past layouts on your page Aimee. I've been following your art on and off for the past 6 or 7 years (argh, no, I'm not a stalker! XD). I actually remember talking about you to a friend my freshman year of high school. *Feels old*

That's really exciting that Gargoyles is coming out on DVD - I'll definitely buy it. A lot has changed the past 10 years, but Gargoyles is still good.

According to Husband's research, whether or not they release further season DVD sets depends on the first-week sales.

Spread the word! (Husband has perfected the art of subtly inserting "Hey, did you know that Gargoyles is coming out on DVD?" into conversations. Each time so far, we've gotten a "Cool, I used to love that show!" reaction.)

Disney are dicks, but we really should support the show. I would be heartbroken if the finale never makes it to DVD (by far one of the best episodes ever...!)

OMG OMG OMG! There are episodes I've wanted copies of for years.

At least half of my first fanart online was Gargoyles too (and some of it's still out there on some gallery site...and it's horrible) That's how I met you:) I had a lot of online friends because of Gargoyles but I lost track of most of them after a couple years. So, there are still two of you around that I know of.

I need the entire series on DVD, because our videos are buried somewhere in the house and I'm rapidly confusing stuff that happened in the various seasons and in the Goliath Chronicles. And re-watching the series to refresh the memory is a bit more fun than consulting Google every time Husband and I disagree as to the chronology of the episodes, or whatever. :p

Wow, mine arrived already (two days with the free USPS shipping on Amazon). It's a nice shiny foil-cover. The synopsis on the back is a little odd, but fortunately not misleading. I hope this sells... I don't want to wait another 10 years for season 2!

I can't wait to sit down and listen to the commentaries and see the Gargs in all their DVD glory.
