Frank Thomas died.

thanks to s8venus for letting me know. :(

One of the sweetest men and of course one of most talented and definitely pioneering animators ever and probably ever will be. I feel lucky to have even talked to him even just one time for a fraction of a second.

Its really seems we are at e complete end of an Era. I purchased Frank and Ollie, and the film had me feeling all sorts of wonderful emotions. I am so moved by these men. I wonder if we can begin a new age for 2d animation somehow.

:( Another wonderful artist gone... Man, his work! Amazing stuff, and I hope I can be inspired from it myself (I never really knew the names of great animators). *sigh*

Hi Aimee,

I was shocked when I read the obituaries this morning about his passing too --;. He seemed immortal, like all the old Disney animators. He will definitely be missed ;_;!

The As (FTs who have worked the park for a million years) at DL were crushed... it took some joy out of Eisner's going away celebration. I met him a couple of years ago when he came into the park to visit one of the exhibits in the Disney Gallery. He was such a _nice_, unassuming man. You'd never have guessed you were in the presence of a real Disney legend.

How sad. I got to talk to Frank Thomas a couple of years ago. Very sweet man and so interested in what students were learning. I got some wonderful words of encouragement from him.

What an asset to and in my opinion, the heart, of the animation world. He will be missed.
