Ferris Bueller's director, John Hughes, died yesterday at age 59. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my life mottos... Thanks for the inspiration, Mr. Hughes. I won't forget.

Here's my day:

And it is so very much due to you that I'm not "missing it." <3

Hughes was married to the same woman for the last 39 of his 59 years and had 4 kids and 9 grandkids. That's pretty awesome these days, even if I am sad that he didn't live longer.

Where did you get the copy of Hannari? I saw it in the theater, what an incredibly beautiful film. Is Amazon carrying it?

Are those Japanese nuns? That makes me incredibly happy for some reason?

haha, no, they are white nuns. :) They were shopping for fabric in the same store I was in in LA. I didn't want to stare, but I wanted to know WHAT THEY WERE BUYING. Surely not confetti dot or spandex? BUT WHAT

if you are at all close to a Portos, you should go sometime. There's one in Glendale and Burbank. <3

nice eye! I saw it in the theater, too! They had the filmaker come, etc...? it was wonderful!

I got it at Kinokuniya in LA. I squealed when I saw it because I was worried that it would never be released on dvd and it has such great information on it. I dont' see it on amazon...? but it must be available somewhere.
oh look! you can get it online too:
