I'm back!
The photo above is the view from our hotel (technically in NJ).

note: I don't have time to catch up with LJ, and haven't had time to reply to email yet, so bear with me!

I'm super tired, but I had a really really great time. I'm so grateful I got to go. I have been to NY for over 10 years, and the convention, staff, gocomi and attendees were really nice. Panels went great.
The masquerade went really well, there were a lot of really awesome entries.

I got to see a lot of folks, even if briefly, but some (like Liz) I missed entirely! NYAF was so busy!

I had crepes and bagels ....saw lots of Christmas trees... YEAY!
and I saw Cyrano with KEVIN KLINE... I didn't have time to remove my Der Tod makeup before going to the play... so of course it was all the way down my face from bawling my eyes out by the end. (at least the makeup matched the dress I wore to the play??)
It was so great to finally see this performed, and with Kevin Kline no less... I've been a huge dribbling fan of Cyrano since high-school (I even badly animated some scenes of him back then... look! circa 1996 lame Cyrano by me!... funny, actually kinda looks like Kevin Kline!!)
anyway...

PANACHE!

on to scaring the mundanes in fancy NY department stores. (the cupcake scarf is from ShanaLogic and the black dress is Baby, The Stars Shine Bright... and I'm wearing my BTSSB Bunny Purse

one of my favorite things was being able to finish this outfit and wear it for NYAF. It's inspired by a BTSSB halloween dress, but I made it for Christmas, instead. While getting on the ferry to cross over to the convention center, a boy saw me and the following exchange resulted:

boy: are you in the circus?
me: No, I work in Macy's as a Christmas Elf.
boy: wow, really?
me: no. *SMILE*
boy: Your outfit is really weird.
me: thankyou.
boy: you're really tall.
me: thankyou! *SMILE*
LATER:
Boy: do you really work in Macy's?
me: no.
(he really seemed to think I worked at Macy's as a christmas elf! YES!!)

Sorry, had to be a goober and get a photo with the NYAF pillar. Forgive me. XD the burgundy jacket is Atelier Boz
This is the skirt fabric:

Poor Mitch was a good sport. He even wore a green sweater so we could be extra obnoxious. Doesn't seem like he minds being chaperone to a loli Christmas elf, huh?

lastly I'll leave you with a photo from an icecream parlor we went to... I'm a huge sucker for Christmas decorations, so going to NY during December was extra romantic for me.
